Bidra med feedbackThis is a great local pizza place that concentrates on take away and home delivery. Staff are efficient and friendly, and the pizzas diverse, tasty and pretty good value.
Ordered the Beirut Pizza tonight, loved the fresh tomato and herbs. What a great combo. We usually order the satay and chich with snow peas and broccoli. It's good too but the one we tried was fab. Love the fresh combo and not gluggy with too much cheese. Different to other pizza places. Well definitely be back!!
I have been a weekly (Friday night is pizza night!) customer of Hills Gourmet for as long as I can remember. At least 15 years, anyway. It's not far for me to travel to pick up my pizzas from Northmead, but I still pass probably 5 other pizza restraunts on the way, including one 100m down the road. Keep in mind it's usually prime time football viewing hours that I go to pick it up, so the decision to take an extra 10 minutes to get the pizza is not one that is taken lightly when I could me missing the Wanderers score a match-winner!The reason I always choose Hills is because of the quality of their pizzas. I could probably count on one hand the amount of times my pizza has been longer than they have quoted by more than a few minutes - and this is from a few hundred visits and have been compensated with a free 1.25L soft drink. The staff are excellent. As soon as my brother or I walk in they know immediatly which order is our before a word is said and we almost always are given a free garlic bread. It's definitely worth paying the few extra dollars to get your pizza here. By far the best pizza I've had.
We (as of today, "used to") order from Hills Gourmet Pizza almost weekly. Good service, yum pizzas and good value. And for us, very close by. I hope this is read by the owners. We want to come back to HGPC, but I'm sad to announce we’re breaking up for now. :(The slide had begun a few months ago, but only more recently to the point where we would want to abandon one of our favourite lazy dinner options. Two weeks ago hubby ordered and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes (pretty standard). A friend arrived minutes later declaring he was early, he'd ordered 10 mins ago. The friend left and hubby waited another 20 minutes after checking that his was still in the works. About 15 minutes later the pizza arrived (a single pizza, 40 mins from ordering, and more than twice as long as his friend). We suspect that the ticket was forgotten until he arrived to pay, but I digress. On the bright side, at least it was fresh and hot.Fast forward to tonight. Hubby calls to order, gets the standard 20 minute wait, and punctually heads up to collect. He announces his name and the right amount gets rung up and he pays, no wires crossed (apparently). A quick scan by staff for the pizza bearing his name comes up trumps and he waits patiently watching the pizzas come out. After a 25 minute wait in the shop, patiently watching each pizza come out to see ours (it's distinctive), and no one offering any hints as to what is happening he finally asks whether the pizza is on its way. It was on its way alright. On its way to the bin. It had been sitting on top of the oven since before he had arrived. At this stage the pizza had deteriorated to the point where we decided a frozen from the freezer would be a better option, despite the fact that we'd have yet another wait for our, by now, grumbling tummies. So we returned the pizza and received our money back. They did kindly offer for us to keep the pizza for free. Thanks, but no thanks. We will be back, in time. And we hope not for the last time. But HGPC has some redeeming to do when we return or it's all over! The. End.
Average pizza. Thick crust that was a little soggy (even though I picked the pizzas up and ate a slice immediately after leaving the store). Probably wouldn't return here. Good value for money though but could be a lot more generous with toppings e.g. seafood (there weren't even enough prawns for one prawn per slice).
