Bidra med feedbackI'd like to view your menu before making the trip from Long Beach to Norwalk. Other restaurants typically display their menus online, and I'm unsure of what you offer or if you have a limited selection.
When I arrived around noon, the crowd was light. The all-you-can-eat price is approximately $12 per person, with an additional $2 for unlimited drinks, so you can expect to spend about $16 per person, including gratuity. While it may not be the best buffet I've ever experienced, several items stood out. Having had breakfast earlier at Tropical Cafe in Silver Lake, I wasn't overly hungry and didn't sample everything on the menu. When I do visit buffets, I tend to focus on meat and seafood, steering clear of most starchy options. To start, I headed to the meat section. The pork ribs were decent, though they didn't compare to the extraordinary offerings at Bludso’s, just a few miles away. Remember, this is an all-you-can-eat buffet, not a barbecue joint. Most seafood items were battered and fried, and they do not serve crab legs—one woman was disappointed when she asked about them and was informed that the closest option was a crab salad made with imitation crab. The most tender meat option was the pot roast, served on a bed of vegetables. I only took the meat, which was tender but a bit dry. My siblings were surprised when I mentioned it was dry since it was their favorite. We discovered that they chose meat cuts with more marbling (i.e., fat), while I went for a leaner option. The best advice is to inspect the meat before taking it; if it has visible fat, go ahead and add it to your plate. If not, leave it for someone else. After satisfying my carnivorous cravings, I decided to sample some desserts. The fresh pineapple was sweet and ripe, and they had a delightful bread called yeast roll, which was fluffy and delicious—dangerously so if you're trying to limit your carbohydrates. It reminded me of Filipino pan de sal. The desserts I tried, including lemon melodies and a brownie concoction, weren't overly sweet; I particularly enjoyed the lemon. Meanwhile, my family was on a mission to try as many dishes as possible to get their money's worth. We spent about two hours there, and overall, my brother and sister agreed that Wood Grill Buffet was a step above the typical hometown buffet. My nephews were particularly excited about the build-your-own sundaes. Although I didn't necessarily share my nephew's enthusiasm when he claimed everything he tried was good, considering the price and quality of the food, I was close to agreeing with him. I even overheard a father at a nearby table encouraging his child to fill up on soda instead of food—they seemed determined to satisfy their appetites. The service was notably fast and attentive, with waitstaff checking on us every ten minutes or so. While I'm not sure if they wanted us to leave after the first hour, they were genuinely focused on meeting our needs. They did make one mistake, bringing me a Diet Cola instead of regular, and they provided us with a feedback card. I thought that was a bit much, as I wasn't bothered by the error, but I believe they offer vouchers for filling out the card, so my sister took one. Parking is ample and shared with other businesses in a well-maintained strip mall, conveniently located across from AMC Theatres and Norwalk's Civic Center.
