Bidra med feedbackWe started with a frozen Mango cocktail and some empanadas. The empanadas had a wonderful crust and a delicious filling. My friend ordered the Taco Trio with shrimp, and I enjoyed that as well. I'm already looking forward to trying their entrees and other cocktails during our next visit. *UPDATE: The last time I visited Maura's was in August 2021, and more recently in February 2022. I wanted to focus on healthy eating, and this is my new favorite spot for excellent Peruvian cuisine. This time, I tried the Spicy Margarita Peru ($11), which was so good that I ended up ordering two. It wasn't overly sweet, with just the right amount of zest, and the alcohol was perfectly mixed with freshly pressed lemonade. For an appetizer, we shared the Camarones a la Piedra ($14)—jumbo shrimp served on yuca. It was incredible! The shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the yuca was creamy yet firm, topped with anchovies in a sweet reduction sauce. A true delight! For my main course, I chose the Pollo a La Brasa ($21.99), served with caramelized Brussels sprouts and sweet plantains. The rotisserie chicken was probably the best I've ever had. I typically avoid chicken skin, but I couldn't resist the crispy skin on this dish. It was juicy and subtly flavored, making for a wonderful meal from start to finish. Also, Kevin, our server outside, was fantastic. I can't wait to go back!
Fantastic! We had the Mixed Ceviche, which included salmon and shrimp served with Yuca, and everything was delicious! I also enjoyed a drink made with coconut and blueberries, and it was really good!
"Etna, Marsala, and the island of Lipari feature exceptional Sicilian wines from Massanois Imports. The food and wine pairing experience is truly delightful."
Very nice Peruvian place in the middle of this small Nyack downtown. The ambience we simplify but beautiful, the service extremely well. The Chicha Morada of purple maize was very good, so were the Empanadas and other appetizers. Saltado and other dishes were a bit less spicier and less economical than I expected (in comparison to some other Peruvian places I would have been), perhaps the spice level was adjusted to the local palate. But overall good food! Great time.
That ceviche? Chef's kiss! Food was fantastic and the waitress was personable and great. 10/10
