Rustico - Oak Park

Food was outstanding. My linguine diavolo was excellent. Plenty of shrimp and delicately spicy. My wife's chicken saltimbuca was outstanding as well. The crab cakes and meatballs appitizers were equally amazing Our server was simply not as attentive as he should have. We will come back as the food was reasonably priced and outstanding. Excellent new space and great food. They were really busy on a Wednesday night so service was a bit slower to take our order and bring our check, but the kitchen got our food out quickly! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

Wish I could have given a better rating however our experience at Rústico was humiliating and frustrating. We go for a drink and give this new spot a try. Little did we know we had walked into chaos and a disorganized bar staff. As fate would have it, I'm fluent in Spanish. The staff, unaware of this fact, started a dialogue of their own. Their conversation resembled more of a radio drama about two baffled bartenders who had lost the secret recipe of our drinks. After about 10 minutes of watching this drama unfold We get our drinks with the rude staff talking amongst each other how we wouldn’t know the difference and to just serve the drinks to get us out. As a Latina and hearing such rude comments from other Latinos was very disheartening. But even then their behavior/comments/ professionalism wast definitely lacking. This review is mostly to highlight the terrible service. We can’t review the food the hostess was very polite and we won’t be going back.

Their new space is really beautiful and our food was good nothing special, but totally serviceable. We ordered caprese salad and I was surprised to see it served with picked tomatoes rather than fresh. I found the service underwhelming at our last visit it somehow felt rushed but also very slow. When we arrived, our table was covered in crumbs, which the host brushed off onto the floor which his hand. This resulted in the seats also getting covered in crumbs, so we had to clean those up too. Two of us ordered drinks a cocktail and a wine midway through the dinner the cocktail drinker asked a busboy about ordering a beer; he said he'd get the waiter, but then a while later the waiter just showed up with another of the same cocktail AND another serving of wine which he just started pouring. Nothing egregious, but just enough that it didn't feel like a relaxing night out.

We just left and I was disappointed at the service we received. We didn't get offered desert, my boyfriend didn't get aaked if he wanted another drink, we had to ask for bread which came to our table after the main course. Plus the table next to us had their food that they were taking home taken to the back and put in containers for them. We had to put our own food in containers until someone saw and came and grabbed my plate and wrapped it. Food is amazing but the service today was definitely not what I expected and it was my boyfriends first time there. Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5
