Barcote Ethiopian Restaurant - Oakland

We ordered the Doro Wot and Beg Wot, and both dishes were fantastic, especially when paired with the Injera and salad. Our food and Ethiopian coffee were served promptly, and our server even brought us extra Injera without us having to request it. Excellent food and service!

I've tried quite a few Ethiopian restaurants in the area, and this one truly stands out. It's the best value for your money! The vegetarian combo offers a fantastic variety of dishes to sample, and the portions are generous. The food is genuinely authentic Ethiopian. I'm definitely going to be a regular customer here!

My friend recommended this place as her favorite Ethiopian restaurant, and we had to give it a try! We had already visited the restaurant across the street, but we can officially say that Barcote is the winner. Their injera is fantastic, and the salmon dulet/shira combo dishes we ordered were delicious! The atmosphere was charming, with a lovely backyard patio that we weren't aware of. We arrived around 8 PM and found limited seating available outside in the back patio, but there was plenty of room indoors and on the front patio. The staff was friendly, and the food was top-notch! As for parking, there’s free street parking available nearby on Main Street or the street just over.
