The Italian Corner - Oakleigh

Had dinner here a few times in the summer. The food was very tasty! Love the wood fired pizzas! Always a nice atmosphere!

The Italian Corner truly lives up to its name by serving delicious Italian cuisine on a street corner. The pizzas and kale pesto pasta with curly fettuccine were exceptional. The antipasto plate was a bit confusing with its interesting combination of cheeses, dips, and thick cut bread, but still tasted good. I can't wait to return to try more pasta and pizza dishes, as well as dessert.

The Dusty Martin was the first gourmet pizza I have tried and it may just be my favourite of all time. A thin, wonderfully light pizza that packs a punch! The calamari was also to die for, extremely fresh and the portion was very generous. The wings were rich in flavour and cooked in a way that kept its moisture very juicy. However, I did not care for the sauce it was paired with, as well as the pasta dish. It wasn't anything special.

After enjoying a delightful circus performance, I decided to dine at The Italian Corner. I opted for the Buffala Margherita pizza, as I had heard that their pizza is among the best in Melbourne. The pizza had a crisp base and a fluffy crust, cooked perfectly in a wood-fired oven. The toppings were simple but flavorful, and just the right amount. It was the perfect conclusion to a wonderful day.
