Bidra med feedbackA very relaxing, tasty experience. I had the traditional wedding dish with mole negro and rice. Best mole I've had in Oaxaca so far. Enjoyed discussing the food using my limited Spanish with a server who had limited English. Their patio (in back) was very pleasant.
A great vegan take on Oaxacan cuisine. Etnofood was a short walk from our hotel so we perused the menu on our way and immediately knew that’s where we would eat that night. While we’re not vegans, like most folks were eating a more plant-based diet these days. The restaurant is small with an understated ambiance. The menu is innovative and we both found several entrees that looked good. The food was super-fresh and simply prepared. (We cleaned our plates. Our server was friendly and spoke good English. They have cocktails and dozens of types of mescal. They only sell wine by the bottle. While we were there we saw a mescal tasting group and the results of a cooking class.
The most important courses were good, the brote did not impressed me (the sauces were very sour and were expensive). prices are slightly higher for oaxaca
Beautiful atmosphere, good vibes, friendly service. The food leans healthier if that's your thing. And it's entirely vegan. We thought that the guacamole was basic, the brownie was good, the strawberry ice cream was icy (avoid it), and the bon bons were impressive.
We joined this the gastronomic tour with our knowledgeable and energetic guide Daniel, who allowed us to experience a real Mexican market which we would have never ventured in on our own. Learn about indigenous ingredients and preparations on this very informative tour!
