Off Duty Tavern - Ocala

It was amazing! Every dish everyone ordered was incredibly tasty. It was the best shepherd's pie I've ever had!

The venue features dart boards, plenty of TVs for sports viewing, and even live music on Fridays and Saturdays. The layout includes a lounge area, which offers music and darts, and a side dedicated to restaurant seating, complete with several tables and comfortable seating options. They have an impressive selection of beers and wines, with around 15 beers on tap and about 20 available in bottles, as well as a wide variety of spirits. We've had the pleasure of meeting nearly all of the staff, including Craig, one of the owners, and Cam, the assistant manager who also tends bar. Since we usually sit at the bar, we've had the most interactions with him. Cass and Cassie (yes, two different servers) are often there when we visit, and despite being busy, they take the time to stop and chat with us. The kitchen staff frequently passes by too, and we always make it a point to share our appreciation for the fantastic food—they really value the feedback! Speaking of the food, we've tried many items from the menu and haven't found anything we didn't love. The Brussels sprouts are particularly unique; I’ve never had them with bleu cheese before, and if you've read some of my other reviews, you know I’m a big fan of bleu cheese. They were absolutely delicious! They also include some spicy candied bacon, which is amazing on its own. The salmon is hands down the best I've ever had, served with mashed potatoes and green beans (my favorite vegetable), but unfortunately, it’s only available on Fridays. We're so glad we discovered this place, as we've been coming back at least three times a week since we moved to Ocala. I highly recommend this restaurant and bar—it’s a hidden gem that deserves more recognition! Come by and say hello; I’m sure you'll find us at the bar!

As for the fish and chips, it was pretty standard, but unfortunately, the piece of fish was dry and overcooked. I would have rated the place lower if they hadn't addressed this issue promptly. Both the server and the manager were very apologetic, and the replacement order was much improved. Overall, the service was excellent, and the food was good. I would definitely return.

We had a great waitress, Cassidy S. She was efficient and extremely friendly and down-to-earth. The atmosphere here is really relaxing, and we had Friday night entertainment who were awesome! And of course, the food here is abundant and outstanding!

This has to be my favorite newly found spot. The burger was absolutely amazing, but better yet, the fresh union rings blew me away!!!!!!!! They were crunchy, large and full of flavor. They were certainly the best union rings I have ever eaten.
