After coming up from Rapids to Marshfield to buy a vehicle, we looked for a place to eat dinner, and wound up at Belvedere...so sorry we did. The bartender was very nice; got our drinks and menus. After sitting about 15 minutes with no server contacting us, the bartender took our order. After we finished our salad a server came up and introduced himself as our server...no apology, nuthin. We watched him spend time chatting up a big table that was being served by another waitress well before he came to our table. In fact walked by us several times without acknowledging us until he finally did. The bartender followed up several times where our server did not. Too busy yakking with other people about how he is a college student and what his favorite foods were. We each ordered the Wed Special, Steak and Salmon, $32.95 (price not listed on the menu). Tough steak, dry salmon. I was asked if I wanted Mushrooms and Onions, which seemed logical for a steak dinner. At bill time, was charged $4 for each which came in two small bowls! Just a very disappointing dining experience which we complained about all the way home.
3/13/24 Belvedere Supper ClubWe live about an hour away and we went to the Belvedere Supper Club on a Wednesday night for the first time and we enjoyed it very much. Two of us had the fish and shrimp, one had the ribs and one had the shrimp alfredo. Everything was wonderful. There was a little confusion on the menu though, they didn’t seem to use the one posted on their website, but they were so accommodating that it didn’t seem to matter. The food was hot and the portions were just right and everything was well seasoned. Included with our meals was a salad bar and dessert. Also, the old fashioneds were great. The décor was quaint and reminiscent of the supper clubs of old and everyone was truly friendly and attentive. The silverware was nice, the napkins large and there were decent sized water glasses. The only minor drawback was the condiments. The sour cream came in a drive-thru type packet, the butter in tiny little tubs for our baked potatoes and buns, and a small dab of cocktail sauce in a plastic cup. Overall though, we had a great time and we will definitely go back when we are in the area.
I wanted to take my wife out for a great meal experience. I was sadly mistaken this was one of the worst meal experiences I have ever had. My wife and I ordered our drinks, she asked for a brandy old-fashioned with fruit and it had olives and I ordered a coke It had to much ice in it. My wife ordered a lobster tail with a baked potato and I had the king Prim rib with shrimp and a baked potato. The lobster had that freezer burn smell and tast and my Prim rib was cold. The waitress had such bad body odor it was not a pleasant time. I would not recommend going to anyone.
Don't get it gone there several times for Friday buffet. Its been delicious and nice variety.Ive heard people say they didn't care for it.People need to be alittle less judgemental.
