Charred: A Steak Oyster - Ocean Springs

Great place right downtown Ocean Springs. Small menu but to me that's always just meant they know what they specialize in. I ordered the 16 oz ribeye medium rare with a scallop topper and a side salad. The cook was perfect on the steak and the scallops where huge and absolutely perfect. Very well executed. I'll definitely be back. Great nightlife in Ocean Springs

We started our meal with the oyster sampler, which was delicious! It included 15 oysters with five different flavors. We liked all of them except for the one with blue cheese. My favorite was the sweet and spicy flavor! My wife ordered the ribeye steak with mashed potatoes and spinach. She believes that rare is the only way to enjoy steak, and this one definitely ranked high on our list of great steaks! I opted for the seafood risotto, which was tasty, although I wished the portion size had been larger. It contained lobster and shrimp (or maybe scallops?), but it was hard to tell because the pieces were quite small. Since my portion was so small, my wife kindly shared some of her steak with me. Although we typically don’t order dessert, we had enough room for it since my dish wasn’t very filling and I had eaten half of my wife’s steak. We chose the apple cobbler with vanilla ice cream. However, it took longer than we expected for our dessert to arrive. I think my request to have the caramel on the side may have confused the kitchen staff. The waitress mentioned that the dessert had to be remade because the caramel was mistakenly added on top. Overall, our date night dinner was quite enjoyable, and we would definitely consider returning to try this place again.

I truly appreciated the intimate seating and the sleek, dark decor. The service was excellent, with a friendly local staff. The cocktail menu was impressive and innovative. Although the lunch menu was somewhat limited, it featured some intriguing options. My burger was outstanding and cooked to perfection. The Crawfish Mac and Cheese could easily be a meal on its own, as could the Fried Green Tomatoes with Shrimp. Everything was incredibly fresh and the portions were notably generous. For dessert, I had an Apple Cobbler that disappeared in no time. This is a fantastic spot for a cozy, delicious meal with a good friend!

The food was incredible and the service was great. Although the steak was a bit pricey, it was perfect for a dry-aged cut. The steaks were cooked to perfection. The oysters in the combo were delicious, but the raw ones were outstanding. I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional quality of both the steak and the food overall.

Went for the first time last night. Arrived around 5:30 and had no trouble getting a table on a Friday night. By the time we left around 7, however, almost all the tables were seated. Chris waiting on us and is phenomenal. He was funny, attentive, and very nice! He had great recommendations and we will definitely ask for him when we come back!
