Mia Modern Traditional Italian

I had no idea there was such a hidden gem so close by! Mia is a casual BYOB Italian restaurant in Oceanport. The food is absolutely delicious, and the service is friendly and attentive. I particularly enjoyed the Veal Saltimbocca. I highly recommend giving Mia a try!

As it was getting late, this review may come across as somewhat average. This restaurant is a family-friendly spot, perfect for bringing along grandparents, kids, grandkids, and a few cousins for dinner. The menu focuses solely on Italian cuisine, with no pizza in sight. Unfortunately, there seems to be a staff shortage, which requires a bit more patience than usual; however, my friend remained quite understanding. The food was decent overall. The butter was frozen, and the Italian bread didn’t quite meet expectations. The Veal Francese was good, though on the smaller side, while the penne was a bit too al dente for my liking. On the bright side, the lobster and crab ravioli were excellent. However, there was a feeling of being rushed throughout the meal.

This was my first and last visit to the restaurant. I waited for 25 minutes and was completely ignored by the waitress. We never received any bread or water, and I even had to ask for the menu. A table of six that arrived after us was served bread and water right away. Ultimately, we decided to get up and leave.

I was with a group of 11 adults. We all liked our food. The service was excellent. I especially must comment on how they accommodated my food allergy. We will definitely be back again.

This is a small low key hidden gem that we have now visited twice. Four stars for very good food and absolutely delicious bread! All chicken dishes we have tried have been great! But I'd like to mention the decor as a negative. Weird cheap fluorescent lighting as well as strings of lights all around, tacky fake flowers, and an oddly placed bar (in a BYOB) that seems to just collect junk on it. If the owners would clean up the design and make this more sophisticated it has so much potential.
