My wife ordered a medium steak, but it came out well done, which left her feeling less satisfied than I was. I recommend dining outside or requesting a table with a view of the water, as it's the ambiance that truly makes this restaurant worth visiting. We had a lovely sight of boats returning in the evening light with the sunset behind them, which was quite pleasant.

When we asked for menu suggestions, the waitress provided a thorough overview of the options, which was both helpful and informative. There was a list of fresh fish along with some frozen selections. I ordered one of her recommendations, the sesame-seared ahi, which was absolutely delicious and practically melted in my mouth. I also enjoyed a bowl of clam chowder that was an experience in itself. Overall, dining in Monterey was amazing, with breathtaking views and exceptional service. Thank you, Monterey, for such a fantastic experience! I will definitely be returning.

The restaurant is situated on the quieter side of the port, offering plenty of outdoor seating. We tried several types of fish—halibut, salmon, and swordfish—and found them all fresh and cooked to perfection. However, the vegetables (excluding the potatoes) could have used a bit more cooking time. If you're a fan of seafood, you'll definitely enjoy a meal at Monterey Canners.
