Though I do enjoy Ocracoke Coffee Co as well, they are as close to commercialism as the island gets. The Magic Bean carries the spirit of the island best. The service is quality and products wonderful. I love to get iced tea which you pick your tea leaves and wait a bit for it to be brewed then iced. While you wait you chat with everyone there and relax while getting to know the owner and their family. If it's hard for you to relax then the O Coffe Co might be perfect for you but when you are properly on island time you want to be at the Magic Bean!

This place is amazing and the owner is the nicest, friendliest, and funniest host! We went down the way to Ocracoke coffee BEFORE we found Magic Bean and it was good but extremely busy and noisy. Magic Bean has a more local chill vibe while still serving better coffee and blended drinks and awesome snacks! Great vibe and amazing service!

This place is fantastic! My cousin and I visited the island on November 8th, and after a day of shopping, I was craving a good cup of coffee. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any coffee shops that were open. Just as we were leaving a store near the Magic Bean, the owner stepped outside. I asked her if she knew of any open coffee shops since hers was closed. To my surprise, she invited us in and offered to make me a coffee herself! Who does that? Only the owner of the Magic Bean! We will always remember her kindness, as well as her dog, with whom I shared my fig muffin. We’ll definitely be back next year. Thank you once again for your wonderful hospitality!
