The Barley Mow - Odiham

This charming pub features beautiful dogs and a friendly atmosphere, perfectly located by the canal. They offer a good selection of drinks, but the lunch menu could use some inspiration. The mac and cheese side was delicious and certainly worth it, but the beer-battered fish and chips were just okay, as was the hen and bacon salad. I appreciated the small dog station and the dog snacks available.

I had a lovely, relaxed lunch at this busy pub, which is situated near the Basingstoke Canal and is quite popular with hikers and cyclists. The pub offers standard fare, but the specials board is a nice touch. I ordered the fish and chips, while my companion had the mac and cheese—both were delicious and great value for money. The staff were friendly and attentive, even though the pub was bustling. I've been here a few times before and will definitely be returning again.

The beer garden is beautiful and the food is delightful. The children's menu offers generous portion sizes. While there isn’t an allergen menu available, the staff is knowledgeable and eager to accommodate dietary needs whenever possible.

I booked a table for 22 people at the Kajak Club, and although the numbers fluctuated a few days prior, everything was handled without a hitch. Caroline was very courteous and communicated beautifully via email. Upon our arrival, we received a warm welcome, and the service for our large group was seamless and well-organized. Everyone was very pleased with their meals, and I can personally recommend the fish and chips. Our club has unanimously decided to return the next time we paddle the Basingstoke Canal. This is a fantastic family-run pub that serves genuinely home-cooked meals. The prices are very reasonable, and it's perfectly situated for lovely walks along the canal towpath.
