Sam's Pizza - Oglesby

Sam is great, but I really can't say much for the pizza. Doughy crust, sauce just ok, sausage tasteless. Price was great, twelve inch pie for $9. So if I were starving, and broke, would try again. So glad my husband and I stopped here on the way through town. My husband had been here over 20 years ago and remembered it being great then. Sam is kind, menu is simple, the flavor is amazing. This is one of those town favorites, great pizza, Sam's hard working one man show. And everyone keeps coming back for a reason. I found Sam 's because it was halfway between my kids and my home. We wanted to get together for my birthday. Sam 's looked like a hidden gem. We ordered, hung out, waited over 2 hours and finally left and went to the root beer place down the street. My grandkids had school the next day and we each had a two hour drive home. Sam is one little old man (75+? doing what he loves. I 'm not sure if he knows how low his prices are but I feel he is being taken advantage of. The number of people that came and went while we were there was unbelievable. Sam is one guy, no other help, no clear communication. Kept saying UPS, happy Easter, computer not working, whatever. Make sure you have time to wait. I did not have any pizza but the experience was interesting.
