Parthenon Diner-old Saybrook

Food never disappoints at Parthenon! Although not super busy, service was not so big....and after we got our food, nothing from the waitress...what ever happened, how everything is, I can give you something else... last couple of times to eat, no word from the server! Also be careful because they charge a fee for English muffin upgrades that is not listed.... why did the waitress not say there was a charge?......... I insult that and the tip will reflect your service skills!

This place is a treasure. We visited and randomly chose a place for breakfast. 1950s authentic diner check! Eat delicious! Coffee was hot and delicious, constantly refilled by our server. Must see!

Yesterday we had breakfast and waited for almost 10 minutes for coffee, we saw that it was busy and our waitress couldn't handle her station, so we waited patiently. After we waited 10 minutes for us to have taken a group of 4 and a guy everyone knew. They were set before us and fed and served before us and the incompetent waitress tried to accuse the kitchen. After 40 minutes we decided to go and obviously never return. At least they did not charge for coffee from the bottom of the pot!!!

I really like the diner feel and this place has that vibe. We came in and looked at the extensive menu. I had a turkey avacado Panini and my daughter had the fried chicken. We both enjoyed our meals but too much food to eat it all. We had leftovers. Had great service. Great time. Plus they a nice dessert selection. Only if we had the room. Came in and it wasn't super busy but we like the meals. I felt like breakfast. Love breakfast for dinner. My man got a open faced sandwich. Meal was great. When we were about to leave a man and his wife came by and gave us money to buy dessert. How truly thoughtful. Makes you have hope in humanity again. Just made our night. Thanks so much! We will pay it forward Oh no I found hair in my food, not one, not two, but three hairs. The managers response..Tell your waiter. My waiters response....No one else had a problem. Yeah I made it up so I wouldn't have to eat my food while I was starving Thats sarcasm). Left hungry and totally disappointed.
