Beef-n-barrel - Olean

I went there with another couple today. I had the rubs and both had a Sirloin steak. the server was not friendly or accommodating. the interieur is well kept and the decor was beautiful. but our food wasn't so great. both sirloins were tiny and very thin and cooked over. my rub was dried and the brot was so hard that the skin is taken from the dach of my mouth. my drink had gone about half through my meal, but not to find a server. I've been there since I was a child, and every time I go to the food quality, it's worse. I'm at the point that I don't feel excited to go there anymore. Maybe it's time to go to other places. then when I left, I was hit at the back door with a person who wanted me to give her money. that's not what you want to deal with after lunch. I'm sorry, I'm not back soon.

Food was good until table next to us had a child throw up between our tables. Restaurant replaced what we asked and we moved ourself since it wasn't offered to us at the time. It's still my favorite beef place in the southern tier but this is not out 1st time in the last year with issues of some sort. I don't blame the family or the Restaurant, since these things happen, but they could of handled it a bit more professional considering it's a higher end establishment and the fact there was puke pretty much under our table too.

Great food! Beef-on-weck is delicious. The graham cracker cream pie is awesome!

The Beef n' Barrel is always consistently great food, great service, and has a clean, homey atmosphere. One of the most popular local spots in Olean, best drinks in town, scratch-baked bread and rolls, beef carving stations in every room. Fast lunch service, and hosts are friendly and welcoming. Desserts to die for, great place to celebrate special occasions. Sadly, no vegan or vegetarian options, but this place has been a favorite for generations.

Excellent staff, exceptionally attentive and tasty food. We stopped in for lunch and both had roast beef sandwiches and shared a snowball dessert together.
