Shucks Fish House Oyster - Omaha

Food was awesome, came out super quick! I had the Shrimp Scampi and my husband had fried catfish, I think. Both dishes tasted great!Kid-friendliness: They have a menu for those picky eaters!

We were seated alone out on an enclosed patio away from the main dining area after requesting a table rather than a booth (which I usually find uncomfortable). We walked past several empty 4 tops to get there which I found interesting.Our young server was very personable and he was able to answer our menu questions. The food was good and the spice level on my shrimp and grits was exactly as our server indicated. Probably one tick over what I prefer, but tolerable. The mahi mahi special was excellent and the desert was good if not great. They do have the freshest seafood in Omaha and for that I'm grateful.

I wish I could give zero stars. I am truly appalled by the treatment I received from what I believe was the manager. In direct violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act, I was denied service because I had my service dog with me. They informed me that no animals were allowed, including service dogs. This situation left me extremely frustrated, as I have never experienced anything like this at other establishments. I attempted to explain the regulations regarding service animals under the ADA, but he continued to shake his head and insisted, “No, I’m sorry, I can’t have any animals here at all.” Feeling upset and overwhelmed by this encounter, I chose to leave. I would never want to support a business that treats individuals needing special accommodations so poorly.

This is undoubtedly the best jambalaya I've ever tasted. It could have used a bit more spice, but I understand that they need to cater to a larger audience. A dash of Louisiana hot sauce did the trick for me. As for the Shucks puppies, they were fantastic as well—less doughy (yes, that is a word), but still incredibly delicious! I will definitely be returning!

The service is excellent! Food is served quickly, and the drinks are fantastic. However, the prices are on the higher side. While the quality isn't bad, it doesn't stand out as the best seafood restaurant in town. I've visited this location three times. As for dietary restrictions, they do have some gluten-free options available.
