Benihana - Ontario

A disappointing experience. I made a reservation for my birthday weeks in advance. Showed up at our designated time and there was no table ready. Turns out there was a HUGE party ahead of us and many in their group showed up late. Their tables were held for them, so we all had to wait until everyone in their party was seated. We were finally seated about 35 minutes after our reservation time, then proceeded to sit there for over an hour before a chef came to our table because, you guessed it..... all the chefs were tied up with the large party. Also, our waitress went on break immediately after taking our drink/appetizer order so we waited quite a while for our sodas to arrive, the appetizers never did. I get that the large party was celebrating something. But we had 2 birthdays at our table and we deserved to be treated well too. Won't be returning.

Reservations seem to be just a suggestion. Dirt was falling from the air vents, the rice was burned, and the filet mignon I ordered medium was cooked well done. To top it off, there were hairs in my salad. This will be my last time eating here. So disappointing.

Our nephews, who are 5 and 11 years old, had a great time enjoying the entertainment.

The manager, Byron, is fantastic! He came to our table to check on us, which I must say is the first time in all my years of visiting this restaurant that a manager has done that. He was so friendly and even took a photo with us afterward! This is exactly what great customer service looks like!

The food was delicious! Chef Masa was great with entertaining my 6 year old!
