Unfortunately no pictures of the food but we had the following and dinner was so good! Fried green tomatoes: our favorite! Oysters Rockefeller: tasty Gumbo: thick chowder that had a kick to it. Special: was a bacon wrapped filet mignon with potato hash, deep fried crawfish and asparagus. This was perfect ?? Seafood pasta: creamy and flavorful Fried flounder and hush puppies: 4 pieces of flounder fried with a perfectly light crust; hush puppies were also light, sweet and fluffy. Shrimp and grits: grits were creamy and shrimp was cooked perfectly. Live entertainment was a nice surprise. They have live entertainment every evening according to our very friendly waitress. Service was great too!
We came and ordered: Blue crab dip- 3/5 stars. Not great but not bad. Pear and Pecan Salad- 3/5. Had to ask for the goat cheese that is supposed to come on it, not a problem but it?s a pretty simple salad and I saw that another person had an issue with not receiving the dressing. The salad was okay tasting but the spring mix had a weird texture. Grouper w/ mushroom risotto- 4/5 delicious!! Grouper was crispy and well cooked. The risotto melted in your mouth. I could?ve ate a whole meal of just the risotto. Also got 2 beers and a Bellini. So why only 3 stars? The service and food were just okay. Service was fast. We loved the live music. Definitely overpriced. AND we were charged $4 for splitting a salad and entree. We would?ve split it ourselves had we known this was such an inconvenience haha! Additionally, we were charged another $3 ?non-cash? fee. The consensus was we would not come back.
We had an excellent dining experience at Ginny Lane. The staff was incredibly helpful and attentive. Our waitress, Gi Gi, was outstanding and made sure we were well taken care of. We all ordered different types of shrimp for our main course, and everyone loved it. For an appetizer, we had the crab peel and hush puppies, which were both delicious. We started watching the LSU game while we were there and tried not to make too much noise when something exciting happened. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend this restaurant.
I had a wonderful experience with the Prime Rib Special. I recommend ordering the prime rib at a slightly lower temperature than you typically would and requesting that it's well-seasoned. The salad was nice, featuring real toppings instead of just the usual spring mix. The beverage special, which was $2.50 for a limited selection, was a cute touch, but there's a limit of two drinks per person. The outdoor seating by the water was lovely. I would have given this review a perfect five stars if the live music had been audible outside and if the service had been a bit more attentive during the meal.
