...and definitely the best in Portmagee. Very nice hospitality from the service staff. Always extremely busy. Seafood chowder is excellent. Unfortunately, the fish chips are not in beer batter, but breaded, which is not to my taste. The quality of the ribeye meat...well, it could be better elsewhere in Ireland. Conclusion: cozy, classic pub atmosphere with its ups and downs. But always worth a recommendation.

My experience at this restaurant for breakfast was excellent. The variety and quality of the food were perfect. The service was fast and efficient, which is exactly what a traveler needs on a busy day. The delicious coffee and fluffy eggs, accompanied by tasty sides, left us satisfied and ready for the day ahead.

My husband, our 1-year-old, and I enjoyed Sunday lunch at The Moorings last weekend on a very busy bank holiday. Despite the crowd, Ger and Pat were able to quickly seat us. The music in the bar was fantastic and the food was delicious. Our daughter especially loved the mash and gravy, eating almost my entire dinner! My husband raved about the beef burger. We definitely plan on returning soon.

We stayed at the Moorings, Portmagee for 3 nights and to say we were WELL LOOKED AFTER is an understatement. The staff were highly professional, warm and welcoming. The epitome of Irish Hospitality. Special mention must go to Front of House darlings Julie and Antoinette,...and who along with owners Pat and Ger, nothing was too much trouble. We dined on two evenings and had breakfast each morning. Just WOW!! The food was amazing. There are daily specials including fresh Catch of the Day' Being on the coast this was exactly what we were looking for on the menu and it didnt disappoint. Super local ingredients cooked superbly. Bravo chef delicious and we couldn't recommend The Moorings highly enough for the food, the welcome and accommodation. This is a fantastic base for a Kerry' trip/experience. Amazing! I think this is the first time I've written a review because it was so good. The best **** mary I've ever had and the best waffles we've ever had. Our server (a younger blonde girl) was also the only one working and she was great. I wish we could come back!
