Orcas Cafe

Superlative, consistently exceeds expectations. We have been visiting the Orcas Hotel Cafe since 1998 and it has proven a much better experience than we could hope for every single time.

Great breakfast burrito while waiting for the ferry. I ate at the cafe counter service side. Decent menu (posted). The barista was accommodating and well versed. We hung out on the porch rocking chairs and waited for the ferry to come in.

Beautiful spot for a lovely lunch outside while waiting for the ferry. Had a cup of clam chowder and a visit from a couple of cute bunnies while I ate my lunch in the garden area. A little pricey but delicious.

Orcas Hotel Café is awesome. I had a beer, chilled out in a rocking chair, and took in the view. Super relaxed vibe, and the staff were cool and helpful. And there is a Siamese cat to greet you at the parking lot. Edit: Turns out the cat, Mr Lily, is actually the current mayor of Eastsound.

I wanted to checkout the hotel since it is historic and charming. We went to the cafe in the evening. The cafe is right in front of the ferry terminal. You can’t miss it! I didn’t expect much and wasn’t even hungry to begin with. That said, I loved them! I had the beignets it was delicious!!! I felt a bit guilty about the indulgence, but soon forgot all about the guilt as I gobbled it all down! I’ve not had beignets before, so this was a first. It said these were New Orleans style. They came smothered in powdered sugar. I also had a slice of the lemon poppy loaf. It was pretty good too. I’ve a sneaking suspicion that it was lime and not lemon. Irrespective, it was delicious! ? Their iced latte was good too! We sat outside overlooking the ferry terminal and it was a really nice way to spend the evening. Don’t miss out of this beautiful cafe when you’re on Orcas.
