Bidra med feedbackSo we came here after a late night movie in Waterford. Never come out to this area very often and we just wanted somewhere that wasn't closing immediately. Hot pot is usually always good. Came here and it wasn't crowded at all, food was kinda bland. Got 2 broths. Miso and meat broth. The miso was way better than the meat broth the meat broth was very lacking in flavor. The sauces were good, the all you can eat bar had a decent selection but I wondered how long all that raw food had been sitting out for hours. The foodbar and frozen meat case definitely weren't very clean. The tongs that tons of people touched with their hands were just sitting inside the meat containers...at least I boiled everything in scalding hot broth to kill any potential contaminants. It wasn't the worst meal at all. But it definitely wasn't the best. The service was almost non-existent but that's okay because it's an all you can eat place you mostly do the service yourself. Eh service. Kinda dirty restaurant. Sorta bland food. It was very filling at least. For the price we paid, I think I would go elsewhere for sure next time.
Danketsu used to be super great, and the service was awesome. They had great specials, options, and sauces. I'm the past year their prices have skyrocketed, the quality has tanked, and the service just isn't as good. All the specials are gone too even though they're still advertised on their social media. I also had a snail in my food last time I went which was just... not the best.
It's been awhile since I've been back and the new buffet layout of ingredients works a lot better. The Korean BBQ tastes great and gives you the freedom to season and cook your selection of proteins and vegetables as you deem fit. Went with family to celebrate the season and we were all impressed with the value for the experience. Will be back again sooner than last time.
Since the last time I went they changed many things after COVID. There is a bar to get toppings not and you do not need to order it. They might have gotten rid of college night or changed it (I went last time and they said it isn't college night and the waitress mentioned they didn't do it so I don't know for sure. It was usually always every Thursday.)I used to go for college night many time and it was great but the meat quality since hasn't been the same. The broths they offer for hot pot are decent. It isn't too salty or sweet but it does lack flavor. The meat quality is ok. It isn't the best. They do offer a variety of options for sides. The price is decent and they tend to be opened pretty late. The staff is also great. They are always friendly. It isn't as busy as it used to be during college night. I do not know if they still offer it. Some have advised me they do not. (18.99 for kbbq)
My husband and I are frequent patrons here-at least once a month probably more like twice a month. As a low carb eater, it’s a dream meal for the BBQ!! Everything is fresh and clean and we love the owners Mr. Jimmy and his son Norman!!
