Amaretto Caffe Pizzeria Trattoria

I used to frequent this cafe regularly when I was living in WA. I even had my engagement party there about 14 years ago. I recently went there again and although looking forward to it, was really disappointed. The food was very average, although the portions were generous. The homemade pasta was too thick and gluey for my liking, the prawns and the sauce were fine although not outstanding. The 'fresh' bread was pretty stale. The salsiccia and olives were nice and we were happy with them. The service was not particularly friendly. We went for dinner and even though we had not yet finished our food they came to remind us that we were the last people in the restaurant! We'd only been there for 55 mins so weren't exactly loitering, and it was only 9.15pm. It's a shame, although not a regular anymore I used to rave about this place. I also think it could do with more modern decor as nothing has changed for the past 20 years.The Perth restaurant scene has really picked up of late, and Cafe Amaretto will be left behind if the average food and service continues.

My favorite Italian restaurant, we have been customers for 14 years and never had a bad experience. Seafood marinara is my personal favorite but all meals are very good.It's one of those places that just seems to have got the right ambiance just nice and relaxed with good food and excellent staff.

First time back for ages - caught up with four friends for lunch today (Saturday).What more can you ask for - good old fashioned Italian dishes - cooked to perfection.Three ordered the beef lasagne, one had fettuccini and I enjoyed the frittata (a savoury omelette) with a fresh salad.We all remarked that the dishes were nice and hot - straight from kitchen - we followed with coffees - we definitely enjoyed our catch up. Recommended - friendly staff added to the atmosphere.

We used to come here every week but after coming for dinner tonight for the first time in a long time, it will be the last. The food was still great but the service was rude and slow (even though it was very quiet) and the atmosphere was lacking. Disappointing.

I have been eating here since I was a teenager, some fifteen years but more so in recent years. I am not sure whether it is still the same owners but I have always found the service and food to be second to none.Warm and inviting atmosphere, great casual experience with equally as good Italian food.Prompt and attentive service and food is always delicious. Can't say I've had a bad experience, even on their busiest nights.
