Herregaardskroen - Oslo

The restaurant has a lovely setting and ambiance. However, the menu selection is limited and underwhelming, with only about 10 dishes to choose from. Our waitress struggled to take our order accurately multiple times. The food itself was decent, but nothing exceptional. Overall, we felt that it would have been a better value to dine at McDonald's instead.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with the other reviews as the lazy and rude staff really tarnished the experience at this restaurant. We were left waiting at the entrance for a long time while the staff completely ignored us, chatting among themselves. When we finally asked to be seated, they claimed they hadn't noticed us because they were full, even though the place was practically empty with only two occupied tables. When we pointed this out, the staff just stared blankly at us until we decided to leave. It was a rude and disappointing experience, especially after seeing the unappetizing food being served to the other tables. In the end, we were actually relieved that we weren't seated and able to avoid the chaos of this restaurant.

I was excited for the reopening of the restaurant under new management, SULT, after being closed for some time. However, I was disappointed with my experience. The QR code menu was not updated, showing items that they did not actually have, such as Peroni. Even though we ordered Peroni manually, the wait staff never informed us that it was not available. Additionally, when our mussels were served, only 12 out of the 17 mussels had been properly opened. At a neighboring table, a customer ordered a shrimp sandwich but received unpeeled shrimp, having to peel them himself to make his own sandwich. The waiter did not mention that a shrimp sandwich was not on the menu. When the customer tried to change his order, he was told it was not possible. Overall, the staff seemed young and inexperienced, and there was a lack of proper follow-up by management. I hope that the service improves, as this restaurant has been a favorite of mine for many years.

Nice place to hang for a drink, but the food ranges from mediocre to straight poor. The pizza (NOK 245) is literally a low quality frozen pizza. The single worst restaurant purchase I have ever made in Oslo. «Anne På Landet» a 2 min walk from Herregårdskroa has wastly superior food at a better price.

Location is good. Service is beyond scandalous. We were shocked by the way we were spoken to. Quality of food is barely acceptable. Stay away. That's the best advice I can give. Go have a picnic on your own in the park so you don't get bullied by the staff at this place.
