Tuscan Tavern - Oswego

We started with some appetizers and were particularly taken with the mushrooms – they were fabulous! Every dish we tried was exceptional. The desserts we brought home were delightful as well. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, answering all our questions with ease. This is truly a hidden jewel in Oswego!

We had a fantastic meal and experience at the Tuscan Tavern. I arranged a gathering for 25 people just 25 days before our dinner, and the owner of the restaurant was incredibly accommodating. He provided us with an outstanding meal. Each course, which featured several dishes, was served family-style, ensuring excellent and contemporary service. The staff was attentive to various dietary restrictions, such as vegan and gluten-free options, offering plenty of choices for everyone. The food was absolutely delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. The atmosphere struck a perfect balance between cozy and elegant. Our group was thoroughly impressed with the service, food, and overall value. We would definitely return and recommend it for a cozy dinner or a large gathering.

The restaurant is fantastic! Fresh roses adorn every table, creating a lovely ambiance. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance – it's lively enough to enjoy some entertainment, yet quieter than a T.G.I. Friday. The food portions are generous and definitely justify the price, while the wine selection is remarkable. However, I do have a concern about the service. We only encountered our waitress twice: once to take our order and again to present the bill. It’s challenging to leave a good tip when the server didn’t assist with drinks, food, or clearing the dishes. If we had any issues during our meal, we were on our own to address them. Despite this drawback, I would highly recommend the Tuscan Tavern for a delightful dinner.

It's hard to really evaluate this place. My family enjoyed Tuscan tavern. Our server was polite and looked at our needs. All he said about the food and everything on the menu seemed great. We started with two appetizers from Shrimp and Oysters. They were shrimps and oysters each served on a french french french frying bed with a dipping sauce. The shrimp bread seemed like they were frozen out of a box, but the shrimps themselves were freshly tasting, very strange. The diving sauce seemed like a tasteful ketchup. It's really weird that I serve Pommes with an appetizer. The most important courses were much better, the tomatoes on my salad were very fresh. The chicken of my wife had the same bread that the shrimps had almost cooked over, almost burned bread crumbs. This place was good in my book.

Let me start by saying the food is totally amazing. The reason that I didn't give 5 full stars is that the wait here can be obnoxious. We went on a Wednesday evening, it wasn't busy. It took almost an hour to just get bread. Which if your not in a rush that is okay, but I have 2 small kids. We ordered our meals at 6:30pm and didn't get our meal till 8:30pm. Seemed crazy. They did make it right by not charging for a ton of beer and our soups. We have gone a few times with and without kids, like I said the food is well worth the wait!
