Esther's Suenos - Ottawa

It's like being welcomed into a Hispanic grandmother's kitchen! I discovered this gem of a Mexican restaurant called Ester through a Google search. The owner is such a lovely person. Don’t expect a fancy atmosphere—seating is very limited, as a significant portion of their business comes from catering and take-out. There are just three tables tucked against the wall for dine-in customers, hidden away behind a pantry. If it weren't for my GPS, I would have had a hard time finding it. The authentic cooking is truly beautiful, and I really enjoyed my meal!

What can I say about Esther? It's authentic, high-quality, and incredibly friendly. The staff is top-notch, and everyone here feels like family. It's truly one of the best in Ottawa. Our favorites are the enchiladas and burritos!

She is always very friendly when we visit for Friday dollar tacos (otherwise they're $2.25 each). A dollar is a reasonable price because they're tasty and small. This place feels like a hidden gem, so if you’re not from the area, you might not be aware of it. There are only two tables inside, but there are additional seats outside. Most people seem to enjoy their experience here.

Great Mexican food and made fresh on site. It's like going to your grandmother's kitchen. Esther is a local treasure. Great food and a great price. Stop every Friday for Dollar Tacos. Get something from her salsa to go, it has a heat, so warn yourself.
