Bidra med feedbackHonestly, it's worth driving 60 miles to Naperville to have a meal at one of the many Thai restaurants there instead of settling for Thai Cafe in Ottawa. The food at Thai Cafe was mediocre, with our fresh spring rolls not tasting very fresh and our entrees being just okay. The drinks were also quite pricey, with a glass of iced tea costing $3.75 and a cup of hot water with a tea bag priced at $1.75. While Thai Cafe may be the only Thai option in Ottawa, it doesn't do justice to the delicious Thai cuisine. So, my advice is to hit the road and head towards the city where better Thai food options await you.
If you choose to dine at this restaurant, be prepared to overpay for your portion of food. They will charge extra for every little thing.
It’s the ONLY Thai restaurant in Ottawa, and it's the BEST Thai restaurant within a 50 mile radius. A tad pricy for the portion sizes, but that's ok b/c the food is really good! Only bad plate I ever had was the lad nar, everything else is very tasty!!!
My husband and I used to visit Thai Cafe often before we moved away, and we really miss it. We highly recommend trying the delicious pad Thai (the best we've had), the spicy noodle (very hot!), vegetarian duck, panang curry, and green mango salad. Don't be afraid to add extra heat!
Thai Cafe was authentic enough to feel that I was in land. The staff was friendly and helpful to keep my Togo order warm while eating my dinner. Easy to find on Hwy 23 at the end of one route in the city
