Bidra med feedbackGreat sushi restaurant almost downtown Ottawa. Small and quaint japanese restaurant with great service. The food is excellent. A must try when in the area and if you are looking for great food priced reasonnably.
Broth was super thin and tasted like flavored water and the egg was just boiled egg. It’s the worst ramen ? I ever had. However, staff was friendly.
We went for lunch on a Saturday, didn't have to wait to long for a table, service was great, we got a few apps and then the Maki rolls, we got the spicy salmon roll, and two of their speciality rolls, one with shrimp tempura and the other with the soft shell crab. All the rolls were really good. Would definitely come back to try some of their other offerings as wellVegetarian options: They had a good amount of vegetarian options in appetizers, rolls and other mains.. my mom is vegetarian and she enjoyed the veggie tempura, agedashi tofu and the sweet potato Maki.
A bit pricey. The ambiance is alright. They make the sushi in front of you which is very cool. I ordered the spicy mayo salmon maki which was not spicy at all and was a bit too big to bite properly. Also got the assorted tempura… the vegetable selection was not to my liking but the shrimp tempura was amazing. The service was good and quick except at the end when we wanted to pay and couldn’t find the server for a while.
My actual rating would be 4.5 since it was a wonderful experience but not mind-blowing, which is ok. We had a great time. The service was great, everyone was very kind and welcoming, and the food was plenty, fresh and delicious. They accommodated my toddler very well and he loved the Bento Box. The Hanabi Boat too was exciting for him. Warm sake felt good on a rainy day. I think Hanabi provides a very decent Japanese cuisine experience.
