Bidra med feedbackAbsolutely delicious! My daughter follows a gluten-free diet and said it's the best gluten-free pizza she's ever tried! I had a slice of her pizza, and it was fantastic— the sauce was amazing! I ordered a salad, which, while not large, was fresh and featured really tasty grilled chicken. We're only in town for three days, but my daughter has already asked to come back!
Our server, Meg, was extremely friendly and always kept our drinks topped up. The highlight of any meal here for me is definitely the warm, flavorful bread and garlic oil served to start. We ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer, which were impressively crunchy on the outside with a surprisingly soft center—unlike any cheese stick I've had before. Although they lacked a bit of flavor on their own, they paired wonderfully with the garlic oil from the bread. I chose the Caesar salad, while my partner opted for the lasagna. The salad was okay, though it had an odd, almost sweet taste. The lasagna boasted good flavor but was let down by its texture—the noodles were definitely overcooked. The ambiance was pleasant, and since we had the place to ourselves, it added to the experience. Overall, it was a good visit.
So, I made the trek back downstairs to order from the lunch menu. Yet again, I found myself waiting to be seated in a restaurant without a hostess. After about 15 minutes, a waiter finally told me I could sit at a table along the wall. I finally settled in, and my waiter brought me some sweet tea, but it took a long time for him to take my order. During this wait, he did bring some complimentary bread and melted butter, which was quite good. At one point, I overheard him explaining to some customers that they were short-staffed—they had no dishwasher or hostess available. Eventually, my order arrived: spaghetti with two meatballs in marinara sauce. Unfortunately, they skimped on the sauce, making the dish a bit dry, but I ate it anyway despite the smaller portion size. In hindsight, I wished I had opted for Olive Garden in Tupelo earlier in the day, but I wanted to visit Oxford Square since it had been years—since the mid-90s, in fact. Overall, I don't think I'll be returning to this restaurant. My time spent there felt too long and frustrating.
This is the saddest s5 pizza I've ever received. I've eaten countless s5 pizzas from here, and this is the most pathetic I've ever seen. I don't know if it's a kitchen issue, or management, but as of late, this place has been lacking on the quality of food.
Wow, just wow. Meg was the best server I have ever had. She was so attentive and really made my husband and I feel at home at Venice Kitchen. The definition of an Oxford essential.
