Luquin's Cantina - Pahoa

The restaurant has unfortunately closed due to a fire, but the silver lining is that they are in the process of rebuilding at the same site. In the meantime, they have set up a food truck just behind where the restaurant used to be, complete with covered picnic tables. The young lady taking orders is simply fantastic—so sweet, helpful, hardworking, and efficient! We ordered chips and salsa and nachos to enjoy on-site (which were excellent), as well as a carnitas plate and chili relleno to take home. The portions are generous and the food is absolutely delicious. Let's support these hardworking individuals as they rebuild! Make the trip to Pahoa, and get ready for a fun experience and some amazing food. I'm looking forward to their reopening!

I absolutely love this place! It's the best Mexican food on the island. The owner bakes his own bread and rolls for the sandwiches and even raises his own cattle. The food is fantastic, and the service is excellent.

This restaurant reminds me of my mom's kitchen! The Mexican food is outstanding. It has been a staple for years and truly offers the best Mexican cuisine on the Big Island.

We loved luquins. Food was good. Service was good. Lilikoi margaritas the best ever. Miss this place. Now going to the food truck till they rebuild.
