Islas Veracruz - Palatine

Great food and great atmosphere. A very authentic Mexican restaurant that serves good and fresh seafood. I am not a local guy, traveled from Seattle to visit family. So I understand the sentiment of people saying it's expensive. The ceviche/salsa is delicious! The drinks are great! Red Snapper with the garlic was really good. The octopus/pulpo was cooked to perfection -soft and tender. Overall, this place is great to come with family or a date. I would reccomend.

Very bad experience. Food was okay but so slow that kids were almost crying. Also too pricey. The worst part was our waitress. She had such a bad attitude. She never stopped by our table after serving one dish we needed to have freakin’ utensils!! until we called her and then she ‘arrogantly’ said that’s how it is at the restaurant. One spoon and one fork for 4 people was how it is at the restaurant!!! ??? she NEVER apologized until my husband was about to TIP. What a wonderful waitress. Geez. Will never go back.

Food was surprisingly good although my fish was overly spicy which wasn’t mentioned on the menu. Service was a bit slow but there was a mariachi band which was nice.

Visiting Chicago visiting family in Palentine such a great spot. Super clean, staff wonderful, service great. The food here is great the drinks are fun. Definitely a new go to spot for me when in town. Loved it.

Good atmosphere, BUT expect to pay the cost of food plus 18% service charge really expensive 60 dollar for 3 bears and 3 tacos not a place to visit very often.
