Fix on El Paseo - Palm Desert

The first time and the new yorker eve. had a few more with us. single person entertained and not too loud. the people seem to enjoy the evening. we were taken back by several dogs that were admitted. Why don't people let their pets go home when they go to dinner? we were all dog lovers, but not in restaurants! we will be back for another delicious meal and good service.

Eating was exceptional, service was great. we will return.

We often dine here. Always pretty good but last night we ordered the prime rib special. The tuna appetizer was small but tasty. Unfortunately the prime rib which we ordered medium was well done, very salty and not as tender as before. We were tempted to send it back but did not as it was busy. Our waiter did not check in with us regarding our meal as we would have mentioned our concerns to him. Usually much better so will chalk it up to a bad night.

Came here for Xmas Eve dinner. Overall it was great- the ambiance was mostly where we raved, the food and service could 've been better. The good: Ambiance! beautiful setting with nice linens, red napkins, felt very festive. We were so pleasantly surprised by this. Great sangria! The 'okay ': It was not advertised that it was a pre-fix menu which was fine, but it should 've been stated on OpenTable (it was not at the time I booked). Upon sitting down, the hostess (who was so sweet) told us we had a 90 minute limit to be there. No problem. However...the service was so slow we were there for over 90 minutes which was a little irritating. The not so great: Because it was a pre-fix menu, there was no kid menu. I have a 2 year old, this is an issue. We asked if they would be willing to make him chicken tenders and fries and after about 15 minutes told us 'yes ' but it made for a few tense minutes because if you don 't have a happy toddler, you don 't have a happy dinner (and I wasn 't going to order him a $60 meal he wouldn 't eat). Please consider families have a small childrens menu on nights like this to ease the tension for families with kiddos. His chicken tenders went to the wrong table and my son didn 't get his food for 20 minutes after we got ours which was frustrating...he was hanging on by a thread. Service overall was extremely slow in all regards. Had to get up and ask for check twice.

The food was great, as usual, but the gentleman playing the guitar was way too loud that it blocked out a lot of the conversation at our table. Besides that, it was fine.
