Bidra med feedbackI've gone to The Venue several times now. The food, the service and the ambiance are 5 stars. Just thinking about it makes me want to go back. Last night was a perfect example. We were greeted warmly when we walked in. The dining room and sushi bar are gorgeous. Our server Alle made wine and food selections for us beginning with the black salt edamame. We then had Happy Hour nigiri that was perfect as a starter. My son then had the El Paseo roll. I tried it too and highly recommend. The shrimp tempura handroll was great. Thank you to The Venue staff, I am looking forward to my next visit!
The restaurant is located in El Paseo right across the street from Kitchen 86. When you walk in you're greeted by where the designated outdoor seating is. The entrance is between two storefronts and you walk around the outdoor seating to get to it, which makes the outdoor seating area a little less private and intimate. I did not know their sister sushi restaurant is Sandfish in Downtown Palm Springs, but they have a roll named for it. We started off with drinks which were good and not too strong. After we got nigiri, both Escolar and Smoked Salmon. This was the first time my boyfriend has actually tried nonfried/cooked sushi. I love Escolar and he loved it as well. Next we got their specialty rolls: The Dragon, Bosphorous, and The Venue. The Bosphorus was my favorite because of the escolar on the top. The other two were good, but I wasn't a fan of the micro greens. I thought it was overused in The Venue. Overall, this place is good for the area. The fish tastes fresh and hits the spot without having to drive over an hour.
Great location Great atmosphere But .... Wine glass was served with old red lipstick . Waited 10 mins to flag down waitress to exchange for a clean glass. Then, she used the old wine from the dirty glass and poured it into the new glass . ugh) Sushi rolls are around 25-35$. I expected fresh fish . The roll had tempura in the inside . It was burnt and dry . Waited another 25 mins to get the attention of the sever to let her know it tasted old and the fish was clearly burnt . We ended up eating the ginger and rice around the fish and paid the tab. Will not be back. One of the worst meals we have ever had.
Oh my goodness what a great night at this place. It is small and quaint with excellent food! Their vegetarian paradise roll is next level. Great girls night out with fantastic service! They have yummy drinks too!
Naiomi is the bomb!! Happy hour time!! Prices are so cheap! We're about to have a feast. Wow everything was fantastic. Found out it's was a sister restaurant to Sandfish we tried yesterday. This was way better! Thank you guys
