Palmerston Tavern - PALMERSTON CITY

Went for a farewell work lunch, service was pretty good and food delivered relatively quickly but food was very disappointing. I ordered Seafood Veg Stirfry, i sent it back because noodles had a stale flavour, stirfry was remade without noodles when it returned but lacked flavour and was watery. Very disappointing for a $20 that I could not even eat.

Not returning too soon!We were looking for a quick pub meal. Previous experience was good. But today, food was slow coming. It took at least 40 mins for hamburger & open steak sandwich! We were cognisant of time as we discovered parking meters had been introduced recently! Before we ate we had to rush off to feed the parking meter!

Went to see a tribute band that was advertised to start at 7pm, was told it would start at 730pm, so left, found out it started at 930pm. When we got there the security sent us to the bistro, who then sent us back to the bar, so staff didn't even know where it was being held. The girl at the bar couldn't even tell me if they had a menu to order food from, even though there was three on the bar, less than 3metres from where she was standing.

We go here a lot... way to often. The reason you ask?? The playground with double glazed glass and a lovely lady who does face painting and baloon animals on Friday nights.. This doesn't stop us going other days, hell no.. we go any day of the week..The food, you ask? It's not about the food. Good beers on tap I hear you say..Nope. Just the stock standard Aussie Swill.. As I said, great place for the kids and parents get the luxury of having a drink, meal and CONVERSATION without the little buggers annoying you every 30 seconds (love them to bits)

Husband and myself went there just to have a nice quiet lunch and a few drinks and we weren't disappointed. All of the staff are absolutely wonderful (very helpful when your an out of town person not knowing where anything is they steer you in the right direction) . The lunch time meal was huge (steak and salad sandwich and chips) very delicious and generous serving of chips as well. A good variety of food choices was on hand to select from. Overall a lovely place to visit again
