Bidra med feedbackFood: 5/5 heavenly food. Nasi goreng was super nice. The chicken in hainan chicken rice was tender and flavorful. Rice was covered in the right amount of chicken oil.Service: 3/5 you order at the register and find yourself a table. The problem with this system is that they do not have enough staff to clean. Lots of dirty tables and people who ordered will be standing around waiting for them to be clean. Ambiance: 4/5 nice little casual Asian style place. Grab a chair and sit.
So glad my friend showed me this place! I love the visual coffee chart of their menu, showing you what is exactly in your drink. I got the Yuan Yang Coffee which was a mix of coffee, black tea and condensed milk. I personally found it to be just the right amount of sweetness and the coffee flavor was strong but toned down with the black tea. I have made Kaya toast at home before using their Killiney Jam from Singapore, but eating it at this restaurant was way better! The Kaya toast was about $5 for two pieces of toast with a thin layer of butter and Kaya jam in between. It just delicious. Not something I would eat as a meal on its own, but a really nice sweet and filling snack! The toast itself was quite small, but still delicious.
I wanted to like this place much more than I did... Unfortunately, the service was just not meeting my standards. After ordering at the front and getting a number for our table, we sat down and waited for our food to arrive. The servers here seem to be untrained and unmotivated. We ordered two kaya toast with the eggs, along with one kopi and one teh. We received our food and drinks in the most disjointed manner. I'm pretty sure the first kopi we received wasn't even right. The kaya toast was delicious but barely warm. We didn't receive any utensils or plates upon sitting down, so we tried to look for some ourselves and settled on using paper plates from what looked to be the take-out cart.At one point we were asked on what food we were still waiting on and repeatedly had to keep asking for our food to be served. If it wasn't for my partner remembering at the end of our meal that we were never given the curry puff we ordered, we would've never gotten it. The mee goreng was fine, but more spicy than anything. Highlights were the roti and teh. Still, nothing comparable to what the food's really like in Singapore so I'll still be on the hunt for a good restaurant in the Bay Area.
Pretty tasty! Plenty of seating. Order at the register and they will bring your food to your table. Service is pretty quick. Now to decide if you want Kopi (coffee), teh (tea), or Milo! I got their Kaya toast and they don't skimp on the butter. If you like toast, Kaya and butter it's definitely for you.Hainanese Chicken Rice hit the spot for me. Chicken was cooked well, nice and juicy. 3 different dipping sauces ginger, sweet soy, and chili. The chicken flavored rice cooked perfectly and not too oily. Seafood beehon was ordered non-spicy which they were able to accommodate. Plenty of seafood and exactly what my mom was looking for. Last but not least I got a teh c drink with evaporated milk and sugar. Evaporated milk gives it a nice mouth feel and I was able to request less sugar. Overall a win in my book and will be visiting again.
