The Buzzz Cafe - Panglao

I visited this café on Alona Beach specifically to try their halo halo. The café has a small shop on the ground floor where you can buy snacks, while the upstairs area has an open seating space that offers a beautiful view of the beach. The service was acceptable, and our halo halos were served promptly. You can choose your ice cream flavors, so I went with durian and mango, while my boyfriend selected ube and dragon fruit. Instead of the usual candies and jellies, our halo halos were topped with fresh-cut fruits. I was initially a bit disappointed by this, but eventually, I appreciated the healthier choice. We left shortly after finishing our desserts as a nearby group started to get a bit noisy.

This place might be easy to overlook, but I'm really glad I didn’t miss it. I stopped by for halo halo, and it turned out to be the best I had during my trip. I just wish I had come earlier to sample more of their menu. For the halo halo, I got to choose two flavors of ice cream, and the mix-ins included fresh fruits like watermelon, mango, and banana. It was topped with cassava honey chips and a drizzle of honey. It was a unique take on the traditional halo halo, and perhaps that’s why I enjoyed it so much.

During my visit to Bohol, I asked the locals for the top dining recommendation, and they directed me to a delightful upscale restaurant with stunning waterfront views. The food was not only delicious but also fairly priced, and the staff was incredibly friendly. I unfortunately couldn’t indulge in their ice cream since I was too full after the main course, but I truly enjoyed the juices and the presentation of the dishes. After our meal, we bought some crackers from their small shop. They accept all major credit cards, and there's ample parking available, with no reservation required. It’s worth noting that everything they serve, including the items in their shop, is organic. I'm definitely looking forward to returning for the ice cream!

This restaurant partners with a bee farm, but unfortunately, all the dishes had a smoky and ashy flavor. To make matters worse, I found non-vegetarian cheese in my meal on two separate occasions.

Overall, I had a pleasant lunch experience. The food was quite good, earning a solid 4 out of 5. The service was efficient and friendly, also deserving a 4. The atmosphere was enjoyable, making it a great spot for a meal.
