Bidra med feedbackThe chef Patron spends most of his time in the restaurant floor being very pleasant to his clientele and making recommendations as to what to eat. He needs to spend more time in the kitchen. This is very much the local restaurant for locals but the food was very ordinary and didn't really have much flair. It all tasted good but could have been so much better with some direction in the kitchen.
This the quintessential "Europe through the back door" type of experience. We were staying in different hotel in a slightly different neighborhood, and found this gem. We spoke just a little French and the staff spoke just a little English, but between that and a google translator we had one of the best nights in Paris. The staff made us feel as if we were there every Thursday night. In fact the bulk of the patrons appeared to be regulars. I had the confit de canard, and it was perfect. The wine was house wine served in a ceramic picture, and was very good. For desert I had the cream de caramel. It was like a big bowl of flan, and was the perfect end to a perfect night. What an exceptional find for our 1 and only night in Paris. We were exhausted from a 15 day journey and threatening to order "room service" but somehow we mustered up the energy to take a walk to find the closest restaurant to our hotel for our last dinner. Fortunately we walked past a number of other restaurants nearby but finally settled on Le Coin as we didn't want to walk any further. As luck would have it, or perhaps fate,Le Coin was perfect in all respects.A very friendly and cordial welcome followed by very quick service. The menu was "very french" but with the help of our translation app, we ordered duck pate as a starter and it was sublime. Then followed by rabbit (which I had never had before); it was exceptional. Beautiful flavored light sauce graced the meat as well as the pasta which accompanied the rabbit. My husband had the duck..also prepared perfectly and it too was delicious. The room decor was very traditional French and the restaurant was filled with only local patrons..the wait staff spoke some English and unhesitantly and graciously helped us with our selections. We felt welcome and accepted and so very glad that we enjoyed our one and only dinner at Le Coin.
