Mapleview Family - Parish

We were on a cross-country trip from California to Vermont when we stumbled upon the Mapleview Family Restaurant. The food there was outstanding, and the waitress who served us was incredibly helpful and accommodating. She not only provided us with directions but also had the warmest personality. Despite being responsible for the entire dining area, she managed everything with grace. I want to give a big shout-out to all waitresses across the country for their hard work, with a special mention to this wonderful waitress at the Mapleview Family Restaurant.

We decided to try this restaurant for lunch after reading a positive review online. Located at a truck stop, we expected decent food in a clean, though not extravagant, environment. Unfortunately, we were greeted by a dirty table, which was promptly cleaned for us. When I placed my order, my tartar sauce, salad, and silverware took a while to arrive. To top it off, the lettuce on my burger was black and slimy. The bathrooms were in terrible condition, with five paper towel dispensers but only one functioning. While our waitress was friendly, her serving technique left much to be desired, as she carried dishes next to her chest. The fish was also not served hot. Overall, it was disappointing— I was really looking forward to this meal.

Whenever I pass through New York, I make it a point to stop by this restaurant because the food is simply the best. I really appreciate small, independent establishments like this one. When you order, the portions are generous, unlike some places that skimp on servings. The atmosphere is relaxed, with down-to-earth, kind, and friendly staff. That said, the restroom could use some more attention in terms of cleanliness and supplies—perhaps an upgrade is in order. Overall, it’s a fantastic place, and if you have the chance to stop by, I highly recommend it. The food is excellent and quite affordable!
