Bidra med feedbackKublai Khan is certainly a fun and different dining experience. The restaurant is slightly tacky and dim but also sets a great mood. The staff are friendly but non-intrusive, allowing you to enjoy your meal with privacy. Pay a flat rate (they also include a vegetarian option which is cheaper) and return to the buffet as many times as you like. Heap your plate with different frozen meats, all manner of vegetables, and a wide variety of sauces to your own tastes, and then hand your plate to the lovely chef who cooks it on a hotplate in an authentic Mongolian experience. Add prawn crackers, rice, or noodles, enjoy, and repeat! The only reason I didn't rate this experience 5 star is that the noodles and rice were slightly lacking in flavour and variety. They also generously offered to let us keep our unredeemed Entertainment Book voucher, whilst still honouring it - so that we could come again! A great experience and great value.
We visit here a couple of times a year. We find the staff friendly and it's fun to watch your food being cooked. You select what you want cooked - for the meat there's a choice of pork, beef, lamb and chicken - then you can add pineapple, carrot, beansprouts, onion, tomato etc. There's a good selection of sauces. Once your food has been cooked you can add fried rice, noodles and prawn crackers. We always have a fun evening when we visit here.
Our son recommended this restaurant and booked for us. The restaurant was full, but there was never a long wait for the BBQ grill to get small serves and keep going back for another flavour creation. Staff were attentive, but not intrusive to allow plenty of time for us to talk and catch up. We will be back again.
Went here with my family for a birthday, and not only was the food completely bland and uninspired, even with sauce heaped on, but I thought it couldn't be very hygienic. And I was right, moments later we had awful stomach pains and had to stop on the way home to use a bathroom. NEVER eating here again.
So we decided for our family dinner we would try something different, we thought the kids would love to watch their food being cooked on a big BBQ- they were disinterested... After studying the wine list, which was pretty average- there were no wines that could be ordered by the glass. So, up the mum's went to get the kids meals cooked first. We waited in line for 15 minutes while we picked our choice of meat and vegetables. We then had to line up again for 15 minutes to get our own meal cooked. It was a real hassle the whole experience and the restaurant was packed for a Sunday night. The service was terrible with only 2 waiters for the entire restaurant. In summary... If you want to visit this restaurant do it 7.30 when the restaurant is dead and you don't have to line up for your food to be cooked.Won't be going back.
