Surprisingly good food. Was not expecting much from a town centre pub, but the cottage pie was delicious and the service was really good.

My wife and I visited on 3rd October and enjoyed our meal. So much, we booked to visit again on the 19th Oct. On arrival, our welcome wasn't very cordial. The lady behind had her back to the counter. Engrossed with a mobile phone. Eventually another member of staff, noticed us. Then they both pointed to a table, directing us where to sit. We made our way and seated ourselves down. Fully expecting table service. None was forthcoming. After waiting twenty minutes. During which time, the lady behind the bar cleared some crockery off a table next to us, from previous customers. I commented to nmmy wife, perhaps they have only two plates, and can't take our order. Iwas trying to make light of our situation. But we were completely ignored. Perhaps it was because they couldn't be bothered to serve two very elderly persons. We just got up and vacated the premises. We will not be going back. I'm sorry to say.

Fish and chips. Good quality, good price and friendly staff. Dog friendly and an outside seating area what more do you need.

Driving through and fancied something something to eat,so looked on trip advisor and read a few reviews and we decided to try it out.I got the liver and onions and my girlfriend got the chilli hotdog.The portion sizes were great and the food was delicious it’s very well priced and in a great location,well worth a visit.
