Bidra med feedbackI've been dining at Sake Cafe consistently for 11 years, even when they were in their previous location. The new building is absolutely fantastic. Housed in a remodeled church, it boasts a stunning ambiance, and the tall windows overlooking the longleaf pines create a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend all their sushi, hibachi, and salads. They also have a daily sushi happy hour from 3-6 pm with unbeatable prices. It's my favorite sushi spot!
Came for my daughter's birthday. Space was nice but a bit plain and unimaginative. It's a former church but somehow carries a Denny's vibe. Hard to explain but it doesn't really do the most it can with the situation. Food was good. But not great. Fish was good and the sushi offerings somewhat basic. Service was above average but not great. Had to remind the server twice after ordering for my beer. Brought in the bottle and no glass offered. There are better sushi places in Pensacola.
I've visited Sake Cafe several times, and each experience has been wonderful. The service is consistently excellent, and the sushi is always fresh and fantastic. It's often busy, but that’s to be expected since it's one of the top sushi places in Pensacola.
They serve old tuna in their sushi and nigiri/sashimi. Either really dark brown not fresh looking) or the bright pink treated tuna to hide the age). I asked for fresh tuna and they kept telling me it's fresh. Tuna is not supposed to be bright pink.
I'm giving 5 stars based on our first experience going there for a nice dinner out in our quest to find the best sushi around. (We struck out at several other all over northern FL) We were blown away! We sat at the counter and watched the magic! Freshness 5 stars, Service 5 stars, Chef skills 5 Stars and Taste 5 stars. It was soooo delicious that we way over ate! On a side note: we went back in for lunch and it was still very good just not as good as the dinner service. We sat at a table not the counter and we did not order extravagently. 4 stars that time. But maybe thats on us.
