Insans Cafe - Perth

The service is fast while pricing is fair. Nice staff and good food presentation but lacking that ooomphh as a Malaysian food but nevertheless do give it a try and it opens till 9pm.

This restaurant provides authentic Malay style food like chicken and beef curry, rendang beef (slow cook beef with coconut milk), veggy, noodles curry, etc. I came to this restaurant a year ago they food was delicious. Today I feel their food taste less than it used to be. Big change in their menu, items provided reduce in half i.e. I don't see mie bandung (noodles), and tom yum soup also gone. It seems the owner is changed. Their chicken curry is okay and their staff are friendly. Only one thing that I like this time, they provide kue kampong (Malaysian trasional cake) really fit into my taste.

If you are craving for malaysian food while you are away from back home. I recommended this cafe. The service is quite fast. Reasonable price and tasty. ????????

I've visited Insan's 2 or 3 times a year for the last 10 years. They are consistently good. Lots of Malaysian customers.

Unlike the majority of fellow guests to Insan’s Cafe, I did not really enjoy my experience there. I chose that place because of the good reviews, especially those by native Malaysians lauding the authentic taste of their dishes. I chose one of the most expensive items, Insan’s Nasi Goreng, expecting my palet to be blown by a multitude of tastes of different spices. Instead, I got one of the blandest interpretations of the Nasi Goreng theme I’ve ever had. Maybe this was due to the late hour (I went there 45 min before they close) and the cook was too tired to care to properly spice its dishes? Or maybe this special dish was designed for guests with spice intolerances. I’ve no clue, but the experience was a sheer disappointment. Moreover, when I was first seated, the waitress, otherwise friendly and smiling, forgot to inform me orders are to be made at the counter inside. As I sat outside, I waited patiently for s’o. to bring me a menu and take my order. However, for 10 min. nobody seemed to pay attention, so I ended up going inside and clarifying that point.
