Waterhouse - Peterborough

Out with friends for an early lunch and seated right away. From soups to sandwiches to flatbread and fish and chip orders, everything was delish…..especially the ‘special’ dessert of the day. No rushing any of the customers, we had a nice long casual lunch with a sweet shared dessert and coffee. The Waterhouse is sure to please, we enjoyed it immensely.

Waterhouse Restaurant is bright and airy. Our table overlooked the river, and was just wonderful. Seating wasn't crowded and, with the exception of one loud gentleman, felt almost like a private space. Our waitress was wonderful, and I relied on her for drink suggestions, as well as dessert choices. The drink was spot on, BUT her choice of dessert was above and beyond wonderful. I did scold her a bit for not warning me of how massive the dish was. Both my wife's and my desserts would have been more than enough to share. The upside is that we have tonight's dessert to look forward to. The food was beautifully presented, and well balanced. If I had to find fault at all, it would be that my tenderloin came to me a bit more on the medium side that the medium rare that I ordered. That was such a small and subjective thing, that I probably shouldn't have even mentioned it. Overall, it was a wonderful evening, and I look forward to coming back for another bowl of their mushroom/onion soup.

Requested med-rare doneness for burgers, received with no pink in center. Meat tasted dry, not juicy. French fries way overcooked. Our server, Morgan was outstanding. She was polite and attentive.

If you want guality food prepared with love and care , for example the French onion soup was the best we ever had , It had such depth of flavor , was made so well and that’s just the appetizer, great food everytime , not inexpensive and not over priced but you get what you pay for , so if it’s good food you desire , this place is solid an interesting .

Last year we had Valentines Day at Waterhouse and it was the best meal we have had in a long time. Last night was the food was just okay. I had the mussel fettuccine and my husband had the rack of lamb. Both were just okay.
