A family run business for 20 years, open all year round. Own recipe for pizza bases which are thin, crisp and delicious. You make your own pizza from a large selection of toppings. Also serve burgers and ice cream. Super food served by lovely, friendly staff.

A real gem of a place- excellent pizza served in unpretentious surroundings. Really friendly service from the young man at the counter, good value $8 for a slice and drink). Meat pizza was delicious- really generously topped, tasty sauce and perfect crust. Definitely highly recommended!

Dining in Petersburg is limited, especially after 6 pm. The pizza was average and we were hungry. In response to previous reviews that noted the cost, everything is more expensive in Alaska than the lower 48 states.

Pappa Bear’s probably has the most expensive pizza you’ll ever order anywhere in the world, but it is money well spent, as the pizza is really, really good. Great toppings on a crust that is somehow chewy and crisp at the same time. And they don’t skimp on the toppings, so it ends up being a lot more food than you expect. Friendly service and a large dinning room if you want to eat in, but they also do take-out. Be warned that they aren’t open very late most evenings and there seems to always be a long wait during regular meal times. But we had “lunch” about 3 pm and had the place to ourselves!

Only a few places in town open during the pandemic.....glad we chose to get a pizza here....take out only, so we took it back to our hotel.... 14 size was about twice what 2 very hungry people could eat.....great home made crust and any toppings you could think of (except anchovies,, yes we asked)...... Service was auick and friendly.....
