Bidra med feedbackMy dad is from Iran, so I have a deep appreciation for Persian cuisine, and among all the places I've tried, Roya's food is my favorite.
Upon entering, you’ll notice a cooking station where they bake their delicious pita bread by slapping the dough against the hot walls of a tandoor oven, ensuring it’s always fresh. The menu is concise, which is a plus for those who may not be familiar with Persian cuisine. The appetizers were fantastic; we particularly enjoyed the spinach yogurt dip, an eggplant dip, and the classic Middle Eastern hummus. The hot eggplant salad quickly became a favorite of mine, while the Shirazi salad was also delightful. Roya's kebabs—grilled lamb, beef, chicken, or fish with grilled vegetables—are perfect for those who prefer a milder option. The traditional menu featured only three dishes; one of our party members tried the lamb in a lime and cilantro sauce and liked it, though it was quite heavy on the cilantro. My meatballs in a pomegranate and ground walnut sauce were delicious, albeit a bit sweet. Paired with a generous portion of excellent Basmati rice, it was a perfect combination. Another nice surprise was the bill, which was very reasonable considering the amount of delicious food we had enjoyed. If only they could find a way to reduce the noise levels. But still, a lovely experience overall!
I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious Persian kabobs. The belly dance performance and the Hookah Lounge added to the experience. The service was both friendly and efficient. I can't wait to go back for another visit!
This pizza place raised some serious red flags for me. Honestly, I'm surprised they're able to stay afloat in such a prime location. When I walked in, I was met with silence and a rather unfriendly vibe. To make matters worse, our slices were handled by someone with dirty hands. On top of that, all the pizzas were just sitting out in the open, with no coverings, heating, or any basic sanitary practices in place. The pizza itself tasted like cardboard topped with plastic wrap and old ketchup. I would definitely recommend avoiding this spot.
Solid slice shop; as good if not better than a NYC slice. Paid 10.50 for 3 slices; they take Apple Cash; cashapp, and venmo.
