Bidra med feedbackFood is fantastic as always, but they didnt send my BBQ sauce with it, including the extra I paid for
Some damn fine sammiches. Still mildly surprised that 2 white dudes made the best bahn mi I've ever had. But, then again, I'm not because they know their **** here. Get any sandwich that tickles your fancy. And get the potatoes. And get a Mexican Coke. Mainly, just get your ass to Stockyard and let them put food in your mouth. You'll be happy you did.
I went here on my last trip to Philly. I'm not a big sandwich person (thanks to an experience from first grade that's a whole other story ; , however, when I tried my Brisket Sandwich at Stockyard I was blown away at how great it tasted. They make their own Cheese Whiz with 3 different kinds of cheese, the roll went great with the sandwich and the taste WOW. I even ordered their homemade Scapple (and being from Philly, I never had eaten Scrapple before this experience it was so amazing. If you are looking for that sandwich which you know you have wanted, but have not found it yet...Go to Stockyard. You won't be disappointed. For you Delco peeps they are owned by a guy from Havertown and...my nephew Brian is one of their cooks (and he is from Havertown as well . Also, trust that I have had family members and friends, for almost 40 years, try to get me to love sandwiches none of them have succeeded until now. Thanks, Brian!
My fiance and I drove to the Stockyard from Newtowb Square...Worth it. The owner waited on us. The staff was friendly. The bare brickwall and high stools made the place cozy. The food wow!. The homade scapple. Homemade pastromi and potatoes were so fresh, I felt lucky to experience it. Nothing beats local orgain produce put together the right way. The sandwiches, built with the same locally grown produce were even better. I had the samon on a pumpernickel bagel with fresh vegerables. I forget what. I do know I will never forget the taste. AWESOME!
Their food is the bomb. Working close by, I sometimes grab food from them a couple times a week and never tire from it! The people that work there are also extremely friendly. Favorites are the crispy brussel sprouts, chicken sandwich, salads and fried potatoes.
