Chompie's - Phoenix

Our favorite dish for family dinners is the beef brisket, paired with latkes (potato pancakes served with sour cream and apple sauce), matzo ball soup, challah bread, noodle kugel (or noodle pudding—don't skip this!), and for dessert, hamantashen and rugelach. For everyday meals, our kids are always excited to start with the pickle plate (and there are plenty of excellent options for kids here, by the way). We still enjoy the matzo ball soup, and I always get Lovey's Difficult Decision, which features noodle kugel, a latke, a cheese blintz, and kasha varnishkas. If you love traditional foods like I do, this plate is unbeatable. Meanwhile, my spouse can't resist Grandpa Ruby's Grilled Reuben, one of those towering sandwiches. All their specialty sandwiches are exceptional (if you don’t mind a pound of meat weighing you down), and this one ranks among the best. Don’t miss out on Chompie's. Yes, it can get busy, and sitting next to a life-sized statue of Liza Minnelli might be an unexpected experience, but trust me, it's totally worth it.
