Fuego Bistro - Phoenix

I love this restaurant! The ambiance is so relaxing and the patio is large, with live music. The Seafood Relleno is one of the best seafood entrees I've ever experienced. Definitely going back soon!

Update December 2023: The food was DELICIOUS (bistro cornbread, two tacos), and the margarita was ok, but small and overpriced. The live music outside was great. The service was minimally friendly (not bad, but not great), and I would've liked them to come to my table about twice as often and twice as quickly as they did (with the exception of the young man with the water pitcher, he kept us hydrated). I was raving to my friend about the desserts, but none were offered before the check came. We normally tip 30%, but we just couldn't do it.

Tried again over 2 years later since our last ho-hum experience here. It was better, not great. Hostess seated us RIGHT atop another 4-top, despite there being AMPLE seating available in the entire dining room on a Sat. at 5:30PM. We moved ourselves across the room to a 2-top. Waters came quickly, as did our server; she forgot the sweetner I asked for, so the busser brought it. Ordered my meal with NO BACON; it had bacon. Had to wait forever to flag her down and send it back. Meanwhile I did enjoy the tortilla soup and salad I'd ordered as side dishes. Hubby loved his seafood relleno and cornbread, my newly-made dish came quickly and was pretty good. Place needs to be cleaned better, and food runners need to double check the kitchen's orders before they are served incorrectly to guests. Prob. won't come back for at least another 2-3 years, too many other places that are better if I'm making the trek from North Scottsdale which boasts MANY excellent dining options.

The place is nice but could use a little more tender love and care. It a hotel that can easily be 4 stars if they worked on a few things. First, there were things that were dirty such as pillow cases, light fixtures rusted, chipped ceilings etc. Second, the pool is absolutely filthy with murky water. It 's a beautiful pool with a pretty big jacuzzi that 's open until midnight which is great but you can tell it hasn 't been cleaned for a very long time. The room could also use more lighting. Even with both the lamps on, the room was pretty dark and the lighting in the bathroom was not bright enough. Now on to the positive. The wall decor in the room was nice. The water temperature in the shower was just right. There 's a restaurant on site which features a Hispanic flare with a nice bar serving up tasty drinks. It 's a 21 and over hotel which means that if you 're there to enjoy a vacation or a quiet night swim, having no kids around is a plus. It 's also a weed friendly hotel and they even ask if you want to upgrade for a smoking room. If you 're not a weed person, this is not the place for you. They have a rooftop with plenty of comfortable seating that overlooks the city on one side and the pool on the other. It is conveniently located close to the supermarket, Mexican restaurant Mi Patio, which I highly recommend, shopping, and much more. In short, although I enjoyed my stay and appreciate the friendly customer service, I don 't intend on going back unless the hotel 's cleanliness becomes a priority.

Came for dinner and to listen to music for a friend's birthday. A friend of hers plays here regularly so it was nice to have a night out. We've been here years ago when it was a different restaurant so it was nice to be back. Many changes including the pot lounges down the hall from the dining area. Yes, you do get the occasional waft of smoking marijuana now and then. We decided to order several small plates to share rather than large dinners. Tried the Empanada, Cornbread, Carrots, Arroz and ended with Horchata Bread Pudding. The Empanada was good albeit a tad dry but the flavor overall made up for it. Really, really good. The carrots are spicy! Wife loved them. The cornbread had a good kick as well and again, I found it to be a bit dry but overall good flavor. The rice was good and flavorful...altogether everything put together made for a good, overall meal. We didn't realize that the group had cake and cupcakes for our friend's birthday and we had ordered the bread pudding. It was ok in both of our opinions...needed to be soaked longer.
