Umami Bbq Sushi - Phoenix

The food was not only delicious, but the staff were also amazing. My boyfriend had been going to this restaurant after work for a few weeks and had mentioned to one of the waitresses that he was planning on bringing me there when my schedule allowed. When I finally had the chance to go, she was delighted to see that he had brought me. I was impressed that she remembered. The bartender took the time to explain the differences in sushi to a friend who had never tried it before, and helped him find the perfect sushi for his taste. Another bartender who wasn't even serving us went out of his way to chat with us and answer our questions about soju, sake, Asian foods, and where to shop for them in Arizona. This quickly became my favorite sushi spot. Although we didn't try any non-sushi dishes, there is a wide variety of options available for those who don't eat sushi.

I had an incredibly enjoyable experience at this restaurant with fantastic music and atmosphere. The food was delicious, especially the fresh sushi which was carefully crafted to blend flavors harmoniously. I can't wait to come back again while I'm visiting from Denver.

The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service, as well as a wide selection on the menu. However, we felt that the food was too expensive for what it was worth and did not live up to the hype. We had higher expectations given the price, but ultimately the food was underwhelming.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal! Our waiter, who also happened to be the bartender, was extremely attentive and worked hard to ensure our needs were met. We appreciated that the entrees included rice, soup, salad, and tempura. Everything was incredibly tasty!

This Japanese restaurant in Scottsdale is absolutely fantastic! Having visited several sushi places in the city, Umami is definitely one of my top picks. The yakitori is delicious and surprisingly only $4! They even have PXG highball on the cocktail list. I will definitely recommend this place to all my friends.
